Bourbon Chicken with Broccoli
Instructions
1. Prepare the Chicken:
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season chicken with salt and pepper. Sauté until golden brown and fully cooked (8–10 minutes). Remove from skillet and set aside.
2. Make the Sauce:
- In the same skillet, combine bourbon, soy sauce, chicken broth, ketchup, brown sugar, honey, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and ground ginger. Stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 3–5 minutes.
- Add the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens (about 2 minutes).
3. Cook the Broccoli:
- Steam broccoli in a separate pan or microwave until tender but crisp (about 4–5 minutes).
- Toss with sesame oil for added flavor (optional).
4. Combine and Serve:
- Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it in the sauce.
- Add the steamed broccoli and gently toss.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
