Cheesy Baked Onion Stacks
Instructions
1. Prepare the Onion Rings
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Separate the onion slices into rings, using only the larger, outer rings (save the smaller ones for another use if desired).
2. Season the Onion Rings
- In a bowl, toss the onion rings with melted butter, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper until coated.
3. Assemble the Stacks
- On the prepared baking sheet, stack 2-3 onion rings of decreasing size on top of each other to create a stack.
- Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheese and Parmesan on each stack, pressing it gently to help it stick.
4. Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the onions are tender and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
5. Garnish and Serve
- Let the stacks cool slightly, then sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
