Instructions

1. Prepare the Onion Rings

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  3. Separate the onion slices into rings, using only the larger, outer rings (save the smaller ones for another use if desired).

2. Season the Onion Rings

  1. In a bowl, toss the onion rings with melted butter, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper until coated.

3. Assemble the Stacks

  1. On the prepared baking sheet, stack 2-3 onion rings of decreasing size on top of each other to create a stack.
  2. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheese and Parmesan on each stack, pressing it gently to help it stick.

4. Bake

  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the onions are tender and the cheese is melted and golden brown.

5. Garnish and Serve

  • Let the stacks cool slightly, then sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
