Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potato Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, shredded cheese, green onions, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well until everything is evenly distributed.
  2. Shape the Balls: Take about a tablespoon of the potato mixture and roll it into a ball with your hands. Repeat until you’ve used up all the mixture.
  3. Coat the Balls:
    • Place flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs in separate shallow bowls.
    • Roll each potato ball in the flour, then dip it in the beaten eggs, and finally coat it in the breadcrumbs. Make sure each ball is fully coated.
  4. Fry the Balls:
    • Heat oil in a deep pan or pot over medium heat (about 350°F / 175°C).
    • Fry the potato balls in batches until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides (about 2-3 minutes per batch).
    • Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  5. Serve: Serve hot with ketchup, sour cream, or a dipping sauce of your choice.

Enjoy your cheesy potato balls!
