Classic Beef Liver and Onions
Ingredients:
– 1/4 cup flour
– 1 pound beef liver, thinly sliced
– 1/4-1/2 cup butter
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/8 teaspoon pepper
– 2 onions, thinly sliced )
Classic Beef Liver and Onions
Preparation:
1. Melt 1/4 cup butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Add the thinly sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and caramelized, about 15 to 20 minutes.
3. While the onions are cooking, season the beef liver slices with salt and pepper and dust them with flour, tossing them lightly on both sides.
4. Push the caramelized onions to the sides of the pan and add the remaining butter.
5. Place the floured liver slices in the skillet and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.
6. Arrange caramelized onions on top of the liver.
