Classic Pot Roast with Potatoes

Ingredients:

– 3 pounds ground beef
– 1 pound small potatoes (halved)
– 4 carrots, peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces
– 1 onion, chopped
– 4 cloves garlic, chopped )
– 2 cups beef broth
– 14 cups red wine (optional)
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
– 1 teaspoon rosemary
– 1 teaspoon thyme
– Salt and pepper to taste

Classic Pot Roast with Potatoes

Classic Pot Roast with Potatoes

Preparation:

1. Add ground beef and seasoning. Stir with salt and pepper.
2. Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the roast and fry on all sides until browned.
3. Remove the roast and add the onions and garlic to the pot. Cook until tender.
4. Return the roast to the pot. Add potatoes, carrots, beef broth, red wine (if using), Worcestershire sauce, rosemary, and thyme.
5. Cover and simmer over low heat for about 3 to 4 hours, or until the beef is tender and falls apart easily.
6. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot.
