Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Cook the Beef & Mushrooms:

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add onion, mushrooms, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the vegetables are soft and fragrant, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Stir in thyme or Italian seasoning, and season with salt and pepper.

3. Make the Creamy Sauce:

  1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to make a roux and cook for 1–2 minutes.
  2. Gradually whisk in beef broth and heavy cream. Simmer until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3–4 minutes.
  3. Stir in Parmesan cheese and Worcestershire sauce. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.

4. Assemble the Rice Bake:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked rice, beef and mushroom mixture, and the creamy sauce. Mix well.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread evenly and top with shredded cheese.

5. Bake and Garnish:

  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Pair with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables.
  • Serve with crusty bread to soak up the creamy sauce.
