Gigantic Swiss Roll Cake Adventure
Ingredients:
Cooking Spray 1 box (15 oz) of
Devil’s Food Cake Mix, and ingredients listed in Box
. For the marshmallow filling:
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 (7.5 oz.) jar of marshmallow cream 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
For the ganache:
1 1/2 chocolate chips cup
3/4 cup cream
24 Swiss rolls, cut crosswise
Gigantic Swiss Roll Cake Adventure
Preparation:
Make the cake: Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Line two 8-inch round baking pans with parchment paper and grease with cooking spray. Prepare cake mix according to package directions, divide among prepared tins, and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 30 minutes. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Prepare marshmallow filling. In a large bowl, beat the butter, powdered sugar, marshmallow cream, and vanilla with a hand mixer until smooth and fluffy.
Prepare the ganache. Place chocolate chips in a large heatproof bowl. Heat the cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it begins to steam and bubbles form around the edges. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips and let stand for 5 minutes, stirring until completely melted and smooth.
Assemble the cake: Place one layer of cake on a plate. Spread the marshmallow filling over the cake and cover with the second cake layer. Pour the ganache over the cake and spread it out to cover the entire cake.
Decorate: Arrange the cut Swiss rolls in even rows around the cake. Allow the cake to set for 30 minutes before cutting and serving.
