Grilled Steak with Caramelized Onions, Crispy Fries
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Fries
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Cut and Soak: Slice the potatoes into thin fries and soak them in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
- Season and Bake: Drain, pat dry, and toss the fries in olive oil and salt. Spread them on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
- Garnish: Sprinkle with fresh parsley for extra flavor.
Step 2: Caramelize the Onions
- Cook the Onions: In a skillet over medium heat, add a little olive oil and the sliced onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10-15 minutes until they’re soft and golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 3: Cook the Steak
- Season and Sear: Season the steak generously with salt and pepper. In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed and sear the steak over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
- Rest: Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Step 4: Make the Aioli
- Mix Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and adjust seasonings to taste.
Step 5: Serve
- Place the steak on a plate and top with caramelized onions.
- Add a serving of fries on the side and garnish with chopped parsley.
- Serve with a small bowl of aioli for dipping.
Enjoy your delicious steak dinner with all the classic flavors! This meal is perfect for a special occasion or whenever you’re craving something hearty and flavorful.
