Ham and Cheese Croissants
Ingredients:
– 6 large buttery croissants
– 12 slices of cooked ham
– Gruyere cheese, sliced 150g
– 1 egg for egg wash
– 1 tablespoon water
– 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional) )
Ham and Cheese Croissants
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Slice the croissant horizontally without cutting all the way through.
3. If using, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the inside of the croissant.
4. Layer the ham and cheese slices on the croissant, spreading them out evenly.
5. Close the croissant and press gently to seal.
6. Make an egg mixture by whisking the eggs in a small bowl with 1 tablespoon of water.
7. Brush the top of the croissant with egg yolk until golden brown.
8. Place the croissants on a baking sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the croissants are golden brown.
