Instant Pot Round Steak & Gravy
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds round steak, cut into pieces
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Instant Pot Round Steak & Gravy
Preparation:
1. Salt to season steak pieces and pepper.
2. Set the Instant Pot to “Sauté” mode and heat the olive oil. Add the steak and cook until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.
3. Add onions and garlic to the same pot and sauté until soft.
4. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and dried thyme. Stir to combine.
5. Return steak to pot. Close the lid and place the Instant Pot in meat/stew mode for 20 minutes.
6. Once the cooking time has elapsed, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then immediately release any remaining pressure.
7. Remove the steak part. Return Instant Pot to “Sauté” mode.
8. Combine cornstarch and water in a small bowl to form a paste. Add the sauce to the pot, mix and simmer until thickened.
9. Pour the sauce over the steak and serve.
