Meatball Sub Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound frozen meatballs, thawed
    1 loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch pieces
    1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    1 cup shredded Italian blend cheese
    1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
    Italian seasoning 1 teaspoon
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
    Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
Place the baguette cubes in the prepared baking dish.
Arrange the defrosted meatballs on top of the bread cubes.
In a small bowl, combine tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Pour the sauce mixture over the meatballs and bread cubes, making sure everything is evenly coated.
Sprinkle with the grated mozzarella and grated Italian blend cheese.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Before serving, garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
