  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper (or more, to taste)

For Cooking:

  • 2–3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Cooked white rice, for serving
