Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cook the Steak and Veggies:
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms, if using. Sauté until the veggies are soft, about 5-6 minutes.
- Add the sliced steak to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the steak is no longer pink and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Roll Out the Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.
- Layer the Ingredients:
- Spread an even layer of mozzarella and provolone cheese over the center of the dough, leaving about 1 inch on all sides.
- Top with the cooked steak and veggie mixture.
- Roll the Stromboli:
- Carefully roll the dough from one long side to the other, folding in the ends as you roll to seal the filling inside.
- Place the stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush and Bake:
- Brush the top of the stromboli with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
- Make a few small slits on top of the dough to allow steam to escape.
- Bake: Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
- Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm. Enjoy with a side of marinara or cheese sauce if desired!
This Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli is perfect for game day, gatherings, or a cozy dinner!
