Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Beef Filling:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
    • Drain any excess fat, then add the taco seasoning packet and water. Stir and cook until the mixture thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Crescent Roll Crust:
    • Unroll the crescent rolls and lay them in a 9-inch pie dish or a 9×13-inch baking dish, arranging them in a circular pattern or covering the base of the dish.
    • Press the seams together to form a solid crust layer at the bottom and sides of the dish.
  4. Assemble the Bake:
    • Spoon the taco-seasoned ground beef evenly over the crescent roll crust.
    • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses on top.
  5. Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Add Toppings and Serve:
    • Let the taco bake cool for a few minutes, then top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced olives, sour cream, salsa, or green onions as desired.

Tips:

  • For a spicier version, add chopped jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
  • Serve with additional toppings on the side so everyone can customize their slices.
