Saucy Jerk Chicken Wings
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 Scotch bonnet peppers, seeded and chopped
- 1 tablespoon ground allspice
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Salt Pepper to taste
- Fresh thyme leaves for garnish
Saucy Jerk Chicken Wings
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, vinegar, orange juice, honey, garlic, onion, ginger, Scotch bonnet pepper, allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Mix well to make the jerk marinade.
3. Add the chicken wings to the marinade and mix until evenly coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least an hour, but preferably overnight for a richer flavor.
4. Arrange the wings on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and pour the remaining marinade over them.
5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes or until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
6. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves before serving.
