Sloppy Joe on Sweet Hawaiian Buns
Ingredients:
– 1 pound ground beef
– 1 small onion, chopped
– 2 garlic cloves, chopped
– 1 bell pepper, chopped
– 1 cup ketchup
– 2 tablespoons brown sugar
– 1 tablespoon mustard
– 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 4 sweet Hawaiian rolls
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
– 2 cups frozen French fries
– Cooking oil (fo fries)
Sloppy Joe on Sweet Hawaiian Buns
Method:
1. Heat the oven for fries. Follow the instructions on the package.
2. In a skillet over medium heat, stir-fry the ground beef, onion, garlic, and pepper until the beef is brown and the vegetables are tender.
3. Drain excess fat and reheat. Stir in ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.
4. Spread the fries on a baking tray and bake according to package instructions until golden brown and crispy.
5. 5 minutes before the fries are done, sprinkle grated cheese on top and return to the oven until the cheese is melted.
6. Lightly toast the Hawaiian rolls.
7. Assemble the sloppy joes: Spoon the beef mixture onto the bottom half of the bun and cover with the top of the bun.
8. Serve with cheese fries as a garnish.
