Spaghetti with Shrimp and White Sauce
Ingredients:
– 8 ounces spaghetti
– 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
– 3 cloves minced garlic
– 1 cup cream
– 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Red pepper flakes (optional, for heating)
– Olive oil for cooking
Spaghetti with Shrimp and White Sauce
Preparation:
1 Prepare the spaghetti:
– Cook the spaghetti according to the package. Cook the spaghetti in a pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Cook the shrimp:
– Dry the shrimp on paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
– Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
– Add shrimp to skillet and fry for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until pink. Remove shrimp from pan and set aside.
3. Prepare white sauce:
– In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
– Add minced garlic and fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.
– Pour in the cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
– Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens slightly.
– Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
4. Mix shrimp, sauce, and spaghetti.
– Add the cooked shrimp to the white sauce in the pot.
– Discard the cooked spaghetti and gently stir until the spaghetti is evenly coated with the sauce and shrimp.
