Spicy Pickled Garlic
Ingredients:
1 cup peeled garlic
1 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
2 dried chili peppers pieces, whole
Spicy Pickled Garlic
Preparation:
Combine vinegar, water, sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar and salt are completely dissolved.
Add garlic to the pot and bring to a boil again. Remove from heat immediately.
Add crushed red pepper flakes, black pepper, mustard seeds, and dried chili pepper to garlic mixture.
Place the garlic and spices in a sterile jar and pour in the hot vinegar mixture until completely covered.
Close the jar tightly and let it cool to room temperature.
To maximize the flavor, store the jar in a cool, dark place for at least 2 weeks before serving.
