Steak with Creamy Mushroom Sauce
Ingredients:
2 sirloin steaks (about 2.5 cm thick)
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion (chopped)
2 garlic cloves (chopped)
1 cup mushrooms (sliced)
Raw 1 cup cream
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Steak with Creamy Mushroom Sauce
Preparation:
Season steak on both sides with salt and pepper.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add steak and cook until desired doneness, about 4 to 5 minutes per side, medium-rare. Remove steak and set aside.
In the same pot, reduce the heat to medium. Add butter, onion, and garlic. Sauté the onions until translucent, about 2 to 3 minutes.
Add mushrooms and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
Add cream, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce and mix. Bring to a boil and cook until sauce thickens, about 2 to 3 minutes.
Return the steak to the pot and cook for another minute.
Serve the steak with the sauce and garnish with fresh parsley.
