The Ultimate Surf and Turf Alfredo Pasta
Instructions
1. Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
2. Cook the Steak
- Season the steaks generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust based on your preference). Remove and let rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
3. Cook the Shrimp
- In the same skillet, add 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter.
- Season the shrimp with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Sear for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
4. Prepare the Alfredo Sauce
- In the same skillet, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning, whisking until smooth. Adjust the consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
5. Combine the Pasta
- Add the cooked pasta to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
6. Assemble the Dish
- Plate the pasta and top with sliced steak and seared shrimp.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan, if desired.
